"A Kirtan is a vessel that can hold love, union, longing, separation, despair, mourning, anger.
The heart beat and vibrations increase when chanting. The sound strongly resonates the human body."

Sunday, May 19 - PRANA MANDIR Kirtan:
3:30pm - 5:30pm in Pasadena, California Sacred Sound Gathering:
The afternoon begins with pranayama, yogic breath work to open the senses and bring peace to the mind. The practice of pranayama profoundly nourishes the internal systems, unblocking conscious life-energy throughout the body and mind.
The heart of the program is our Kirtan, chanting mantras as a form of community song. Kirtan comes from the path called Bhakti Yoga, a direct experience of Universal Love with the intention to create a vibrational cascade of healing.
"An ancient practice, rhythmic repetition of poems, sacred mantras, and prayers for the divine brings us closer to a state
of pure, heart-centered consciousness".
A beloved Swami once said,
"Every name is filled with countless powers.
Sweeter than all sweet things, more auspicious than
all good things, purer than all pure things,
is the Name ( of the Divine )."
You don't have to know how to chant in Sanskrit or think you have a good voice for a wonderful Kirtan. All voices join together, resonating and unfolding into a higher consciousness for positive energy.
A mantra we love:
Rama Ram Jai Raja Ram - Rama Ram Jai Sita Ram
Our own variation of the Ram Mantra
is a sweet part of our Kirtan each month!
The second part of the program is a Sound Bath with crystal bowls and natural sounds. We are blessed to introduce Thomas Klepper into our blossoming Sacred Sound community, taking us into a celestial place through his music healing. There will also be time for silence, in meditation and in deep relaxation.
Please bring a bottle of water and one or two yoga mats, blankets or shawls so that you can lay down and be comfortable.
