yoga and healing workshops
with Lea Kraemer
igniting the inner flame
Two or three-hour formats:
1. breaking through blocks: a vinyasa
practice
Find an immediate ease in even the most challenging asanas. This
Vinyasa Yoga Workshop flows from pose to pose focusing on the even-ness
and expansion of the breath and ends with meditation and relaxation.
Take an ecstatic journey into the mind and body through developing
the understanding of how to build a rich, personal practice.
This is a deeply healing workshop to assist you in breaking blocks
on both physical and psychic levels. Discover patterns of resistance
in your breath (mind) and free you posture (body) by isolating subtle
energies and movements. Ground and align your practice with your Sattvic
mind, the evolutionary aspect of the psyche.
2. chakra meditation workshop
Chakras are the “wheels” of our psyches. Each
chakra has its own unique view of the world. The heart chakra
knows no boundaries and expands its love beyond the horizon,
while the second chakra at the pelvis is like water and creatively
relates to everything. An imbalance in a chakra is either too
much or too little energy in a portion of the “wheel”.
When the mind-body balance is thrown off, other “wheels”
or areas of the psyche are affected as well. But how do we know
where our imbalances lie?
We need not go outside of ourselves to see and heal ourselves.
Understand your personal tendencies toward imbalance and learn
how to create a yoga practice to keep yourself mentally, physically
and spiritually sound.
Lea Kraemer teaches pure techniques of ancient Kundalini Yoga.
Experience, sense and understand what is happening in your body’s
chakra and energy system. You will be guided through a series
of beautiful self-reflections and meditations to become familiar
with the colors, sounds and qualities of each chakra. The Kundalini
Yoga Kriyas, or sets, in this workshop are given to re-balance
and re-focus each chakra. We end the session with yogic techniques
to raise the Kundalini, the unleashed internal energy!

3. fearless living
This workshop introduces Kundalini Yoga practices for releasing
fear and understanding its illusionary nature. There will be
time for readings and discussions on the art of neutrality (Sattva)
and non-attachment as an integral part of this process. Lea
guides meditations to focus on expanding your awareness. In
the guided meditation series all sensations are included. There
is no judging, labeling or conceptualization of what is important
and unimportant.
When we start to release self-judging thoughts, our ideas and
perceptions become clearer, giving way to intuition and “true”
knowledge, or Self-knowledge. Fear holds little or no energy
in this greater state. Kundalini Yoga “kriyas” or
series of movements, breath and meditation are given to help
you develop an experiential understanding of the state of fear-less-ness.
Please come prepared for physical postures as well as dynamic
breath work in this workshop.
Open to all levels of students who are interested in living
in the freedom of non-attachment. This state is also expressed
in Buddhist teachings as the “emptiness” of form.
Come learn how to release pre-conditioned responses that no
longer satisfy you or your life goals. Become alive in the fearless
presence of this very moment.

4. flight! - partnered yoga workshop
Go beyond that which you can do alone. Deepen your practice
as you find a steady center, experience magnificent freedom
in space, and open your self to an expansive state of awareness.
Lea has been creating paired Yoga postures and sequences for
over ten years, sharing this work with Yoga teachers and students
of all ages and abilities. You will leave with an open heart.
Partnered yoga postures express the harmony and beauty of a
heightened sense of awareness. Come to this workshop by yourself
and you will work with other students, or you bring a friend
and work together. Flight is about moving and breathing in synchronicity.
The workshop moves through Lea’s dynamic sequences of
partnered-postures, assists and balances to strengthen core
muscles, release tension all over the body, to open the lower
back and sacrum, achieve greater flexibility, and for keen sense
of balance.
strengthening inner peace
Daylong Workshops in a six to eight-hour format:
1. magnificent breath
In this workshop you will explore the “inner vision”
of your breath. Discover how improving the quality of your breath
creates great strength and peace within yourself. Practice Kundalini
Yoga techniques, Kriyas, to “ignite” a dynamic flow
of energy and contentment. Learn purifications for your glandular
system. Clean and rejuvenate your heart and mind. Lea’s
practice sessions in Kundalini Yoga are explorations into the
great joy attuning to the rhythm of the mind and body.
Meditations given in this course are not strainful or hard
to achieve, but astoundingly do-able and natural. Guided postural
instruction enhances the length and support of the body, and
correct methodology for breath work leads to subtle skill in
the practices. At the end of the workshop, deep relaxation is
an important part of this healing process.
If you have never taken Kundalini Yoga before, this workshop
will introduce you on to age-old techniques to balance your
mind and your nerves. More experienced Yogic practitioners will
enjoy refining aspects of asana (posture), mudra (hand symbols)
and pranayama (breath control). Kundalini Yoga develops consciousness
and compassion, so that you may conquer both your daily life
and your greatest challenges with steady ease and serenity.
2. cultivating intelligent faith
This workshop is a wise encounter with your Self, giving you
practical, spiritual tools to cultivate intelligent faith. Lea
Kraemer guides Kundalini Yoga Kriyas, sets, and meditations
which build wholeness, trust and self-understanding. There are
so many teachers teaching so many things. But the real knowledge
is that we are complete right now. Can anything truly be “learned”?
Yogi Bhajan, who brought Kundalini Yoga to the West, referred
to the power of devotional meditation as process of Self-blessing.
This divine Self is the source of all love, and has not a thing
to do with ego, judgment, “right-ness” or “wrong-ness”.
Take this opportunity to evaluate your life with intelligent
faith. Move towards alignment with the unlimited source of grace.
The workshop is open to all levels and includes physical Yoga
and classical breath work as well as seated meditation.
3. kundalini yoga for health recovery
This workshop will be approachable to those new to Yoga, and
valuable for students who have participated in Yoga programs
in the past. Kundalini Yoga utilizes breath, meditation, posture,
visualization, and includes principals of healing used for hundreds
of years. Kundalini Yoga works on the immune, glandular, nervous,
and cardio-vascular systems to increase overall health and vitality
and to conquer areas of fatigue and stress. Kundalini Yoga can
help you to re-pattern your ways of thinking so that you are
able to direct your life healthfully, and increase your sense
of self-efficacy.
Learn to relax in balance and in harmony. Yoga tones all systems
of the human body and Kundalini Yoga has been found to be of
remarkable value for health recovery. While it is not the intention
of this workshop to cover individual health programs, yogic
techniques presented here will assist you to build endurance
and wellness. Lea uses techniques which support the mind and
body in self recognition and acceptance. This workshop is given
with respect for individual needs and abilities of each student.
All levels are most welcome.
Lea works in private practice with clients recovering from
chronic and life-threatening illness. She has designed health
programs, classes and case studies in Yoga at many of the major
hospitals in the NY Metropolitan area. Classes and workshops
for healing are part of the outreach programs of PRANA MANDIRYoga
Studio.

Seven Day Long Retreat:
1. dwell in possibility
Also called “Re-Treat Yourself”, this week long
journey moves from challenging physical Kundalini Yoga kriyas,
or sets, filled with held postures and flexibility inducing
arches, to the most sublime meditations on the vibrating, pulsating
beat of our hearts.
The week begins by sweating and working hard, inducing our
bodies to release stress and tension in the muscles and internal
organs. We end the last meditation of the week in the Naad,
the divine vibration of sound. Through Lea’s guidance
you will leave utterly transformed, having gained insight into
the nature of your own being as well as deepening the skill
level of your Yoga practice. All Yogis of all lineages will
benefit and students of all levels are encouraged to attend.
Lea’s alignment instructions allow each participant to
find their most beneficial pose. The week of Kundalini Yoga
kriyas concentrates on graceful postural instructions and attention
to subtle details needed to hold postures for many minutes at
a time. The meditation sessions flow this totality, from an
outer to an inner observation and awareness, as a natural, integrated
path to Yoga and the Self.
