On every atom is found a Buddha sitting amidst countless Bodhisattvas.
In this infinite sphere of mystic beings, I gaze with eyes of

Sex: From the Phallic to the Cephalic!
With Ranjan, 10 Park Avenue
Saturday, May 17 |
| |
A seminar on leading edge research into sexuality. With Ranjan
Saturday, May 17 Hosted by Michele Risa at a location to be anounced
shortly. You may register through PRANA MANDIR
Traditionally we have thought that the purpose of sex is reproduction
or recreational pleasure. The latest research in neuroscience
reveals it's not so!
In a sexual relationship, each partner's brain sends "broadcasts."
Over time they delete the sub-dominant neural pathways of their
partner, replace them with their own dominant neural pathways
and work in tandem. The actual physical structure of the brain
is transformed. The neural stability tha results creates the deepest
feelings of satisfaction. According to the neuroscientist James
Prescott failing to achieve this neural stability is the cause
of promiscuity. The implications are profound: we may need to
revamp our sex lives if we want to be happy.
Science fiction or science fact? Join us and find out! |

Belief Becomes Biology
With Ranjan, at Prana Mandir Studio
Sunday, May 18, 10am - 5pm |
| |
That our thoughts and feelings could affect our health used to
be a perspective of the mystic and looney fringe. Since Descartes,
educated thinking has been that the immaterial could not act on
the material. But quantum physics and cell biology has changed
all that. For example, matter is now understood to be energy,
just the same as thought is. So it is not so far-fetched to think
of them acting on each other. For example, in The Biology of Belief
Bruce Lipton has shown that a cell has receptors for invisible
fields like sound and thought not just for material things like
pharmaceuticals. What is more, genetic determinism has been destroyed
by his data. He has mapped the mechanisms through which the cell
can be re-programmed to transcend our genetics. Hard science now
gives us the physiological basis through which visualisation impacts
our body. He has shown it is through the ability of the cell to
receive mental signals.
For the student of yoga, the workshop will provide tools to augment
the benefit you get from your daily practice. For example, most
students are told to visualise. Here you learn how to train your
imagination so you can visualise better. Improving the clarity
of the sights and sounds you can imagine compacts the time and
increases the effectiveness of your daily practice.
Come join us and learn a whole repertoire of skills for greater
awareness, greater energy and a stronger immune system. Come learn
to taste life more sweetly!

Living our Yoga: Practicing Ahimsa On and Off the Mat
With Marcel and Sujata Ringawa
Sunday, June 8, 2pm - 5pm |
| |
The
yoga tradition speaks about an ethical value that is particularly
relevant for the 21st century: Ahimsa - translated as non-harming
or non-injury. Ahimsa challenges us to look at our own tendencies
and the choices we make in our lives. Ahimsa is also a lens with
which to view the journey of human evolution and our sacred relationship
to the earth's environment.
Inspired by the teachings of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras dating
back to the 2nd century, this workshop opens a door to applying
yogic ethical values to our yoga practice and our life. The dynamic
Anusara Yoga style combined with the reflective study of classical.yoga
teachings aligns us with our own unique expression of Ahimsa -
and brings us into the heart of living our yoga.
