designed for those with a desire to deepen
their practice and knowledge of yoga. In keeping with its original
intention, the course structure is quite powerful, creating an
environment for the uncoiling of one-Self (i.e.) beckoning Divine
Kundalini. Intuition and insight lead us into an in-depth exploration
of practice, texts, and the nature of wisdom.
a dynamic course
of study and contemplation:
Held for the first time in September of 2001, Agni is a continuing
education forum designed for advanced students, yoga teachers,
and healers of all traditions. Our focus is on the power of Prana
and the grace of Kundalini.
"Ultimately you come into relationship to
the universe and understand YOU already ARE
and this brings you to the practical experience of Infinity"
- Yogi Bhajan
comprehensive continuing education:
Agni includes sets, Meditations and ageless Kriyas of Kundalini
Yoga. Yogi Bhajan, our beloved teacher, brought this spiritual
technology to the West in the late 1960's. Agni is not KRI Level
1 certification, as there are many already available. It is presented
joyfully as a forum for higher learning and continuing education.
Agni will be of particular interest to you as a teacher of healer,
for the purpose of elevating your practice to the next level,
and sharpening your spiritual tools. If you are thinking of entering
a certification program, the intensive is an opportunity to dive
deeper into the Self. Mostly Agni is for those souls who wish
to practice with others of a similar thirst.
classes cover:
Physical alignment and asana, anatomy, the pranic body, nadis,
the subtle body, chakras, the mind and the soul. Study the science
of yoga through Patanjali's YOGS SUTRAS, The KRIYA YOGA UPANISHAD,
VIJNANA BHARAIVA and other historical texts, as well as Yogi Bhajan's
THE MIND, a more recent text.
a teacher is a channel
for the Guru's grace:
Graduates from the program include Ashtanga and Vinyasa Yoga teachers,
energy workers, Reiki healers, therapists, and Yoga teachers of
various Hatha and Kundalini Yoga traditions. Participants in Agni
are asked to become involved in community outreach through seva
(selfless service). Certified teachers and healers have the opportunity
to give back by teaching within their own modality at a hospital,
studio, or wellness center. Yoga students participating in Agni
can support this outreach through service in development and coordination
of programs. Our intention is to facilitate Yoga and Meditation
classes where they can best be of service.
our staff:
Guided by Lea Kraemer, founder and director of PRANA MANDIR Yoga
Studio. Guest teachers are Doctors of both Western and Eastern
medicine. For example, Dr. Larry Palevsky, Pediatrician and "medical
revolutionary", teaches physical anatomy and leads discussions
on wellness with regard to our own unique emotional/physical constitution.
Julie Willimott, certified Accupunturist, introduces Traditional
Chinese Medicine and the meridians and internal organs which they
govern through her awe of nature and great respect for the human
energetic system.
to graduate from agni:
a written "experience", given out on the last day of
class, is required. The physical "exam" is the group
offering of a Yoga Retreat Day open to all. Proceeds will be donated
to a pre-selected charity. Mentoring and some placement is also
a part of this experience. The Benefit Day of Yoga is hosted by
all of the participants in Agni.
